B. Davis Scholarship 


The scholarship of $1,000 is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as students currently registered in any post secondary institution. 

To apply for this scholarship, students must write an essay of less than 1000 words on the following topic: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual.

StyleMann Young Professionals Award


Students need to submit a 1000-1500 words article  about “How Fashion Industry Changed E-commerce And Its Impact On Us." Students can write about its positive, negative or neutral changes.

James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists


Five digital cameras will be awarded to (5) high school students. High school applicants should only submit still photographs. Scholarships will be awarded to those students whose work “tells a story”. This is a fairly broad topic and may include a variety of subject matter and approaches (breaking news, sporting events, etc.)


Qualifications: High school students applying for this scholarship must have completed one year at an accredited high school (student must therefore be a sophomore or older) and should have taken at least one photography or related art class.

Maryknoll Student Essay Contest is asking students to cite examples of violence and tell what actions they are taking or could take to promote peace.

Graduating Seniors whose parents or legal guardians are employed by a California wine grape grower are eligible to apply for this



-Two $8,000 scholarships will be awarded to students planning on attending a UC or CSU school.


-Four $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students planning on attending a Community College.

FIRE Scholarship

The mission of FIRE is to defend and sustain individual rights at America’s colleges and universities. These rights include freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience—the essential qualities of individual liberty and dignity. In addition to defending the rights of students and faculty, FIRE works to educate students and the general public on the necessity of free speech and its importance to a thriving democratic society.




The FIRE Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors in U.S. high schools, including home-schooled students, as well as U.S. citizens attending schools overseas. Students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words on the topic of Free Speech. 



One $10,000 first prize, one $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded for the best essays. Four $500 winners will be chosen from the remaining entrants in a drawing.

Community Service Scholarship

The 2017 Good Tidings Community Service Scholarship Application is now available for students to apply. It is an excellent opportunity for low-income high school seniors who have committed themselves to community service. 


Ten scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded. All applications are due by October 26, 2017.

Horatio Alger Scholarship

The Association reaches out to the nations young people with a message of hope, opportunity, responsibility and perseverance. The Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students who have a financial need and exhibit integrity and perseverance. Scholarship awards range from $6,000-$25,000 each year. 



Qualifications: High School seniors demonstrating critical financial need and are United States citizens.

Veterans of Foreign Wars (Voice of Democracy)


The Voice of Democracy has been VFW's premier scholarship program since 1947. Each year students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Prizes and scholarships are awarded at the Post, District, State and National levels, with the top prize awarded at $30,000.


Qualifications: Interested students in grades 9-12 need to submit a recorded 3-5 minute essay on an audio CD, typed essay and completed entry form. The theme for this year is, American History: Our Hope for the Future.

American Heritage Scholarship Program

County wide competition promoting greater understanding of our American Heritage and provides students the opportunity to compete for up to $10,000 in scholarships.



Students must attend a lecture scheduled for September 19, 2017.



Essays due to the Superintendent's Office at SCOE on October 18, 2017.

Our scholarship is called “Outdoor Hobbyist Scholarship Program”. This is an annual scholarship, requires an essay submission, and the winning applicant will receive $1000 dollars towards their cost of education.
