Thiel Foundation Fellowship 

 

If you are 23 and under and working on a cool project or company you may consider applying for the Thiel Fellowship. 

 

The Thiel Fellowship gives $100,000 to young people who want to build new things. It's a two-year program that offers 20-30 fellowships over a two year period.

Easton/NFAA Scholarship 

The National Field Archery Association Committee will be giving a minimum of $100 scholarships, but the actual amount will be based on the amount available in the scholarship fund at the time of selection. The maximum amount of all scholarships for the first three years will be $50,000 per year. 

 

High School Seniors must be applying to be full time students at a two or four year college/university or a technical training college. Applicants must maintain a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in the current year.

Students compete for $100,000 in cash and awards that may be used to support their entrepreneurial endeavors or to pursue higher education.

AXA Achievement Scholarship 

 

The AXA Achievement Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation representing all 50 states. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship. 

 

Applicants to the AXA Achievement Scholarship must:

  • Be United States citizen or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 united states, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico.

FIRE Scholarship

The mission of FIRE is to defend and sustain individual rights at America’s colleges and universities. These rights include freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience—the essential qualities of individual liberty and dignity. In addition to defending the rights of students and faculty, FIRE works to educate students and the general public on the necessity of free speech and its importance to a thriving democratic society.

 

 

Qualifications:

The FIRE Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors in U.S. high schools, including home-schooled students, as well as U.S. citizens attending schools overseas. Students must submit an essay between 800 and 1,000 words on the topic of Free Speech. 

 

Awards:

One $10,000 first prize, one $5,000 second prize, and three $1,000 runner-up prizes will be awarded for the best essays. Four $500 winners will be chosen from the remaining entrants in a drawing.

Veterans of Foreign Wars (Voice of Democracy)

 

The Voice of Democracy has been VFW's premier scholarship program since 1947. Each year students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Prizes and scholarships are awarded at the Post, District, State and National levels, with the top prize awarded at $30,000.

We started in a dorm room and now we’re a real company. It’s time for us to pay it forward. We’re offering a $500 tuition scholarship once a year!

We love our hometown (fun fact – four of our employees share the same hometown) and want to find out what you’re bringing from home to college with you.  It could be a physical object, like your favorite sweatshirt, or a lesson your soccer coach taught you; whatever you’re “carrying” to college, share the significance with us and explain the sentimental value and story behind it. To win, describe this item/experience/lesson in a piece no longer than 1000 words, but please include between 1-5 of your own related pictures.

High School student (18 years old+) who will attend an accredited college or university in Fall 2017.

$500 to be used for tuition.

How to Enter

This year we will be giving out  eight scholarship awards in the amount of $1000. The scholarship is open to any student pursuing an education in the fields of healthcare, dental, behavioral health, or social work.

Six scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in each of the following counties in the amount of $1,500.00 each: Merced, Madera and Stanislaus.


Criteria for Eligibility ~ CVOC Scholarship Awards
1. Student must be from a farmworker or verifiable low-income family.
2. The applicant must be planning to pursue education at a vocational, junior college, state college or university on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 units) beginning Fall 2017 semester.
3. If selected, the applicant will be required to provide proof of enrollment at the vocational, junior college, state college or university of his/her choice.
4. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 Cumulative High School GPA.
5. Applicants must accurately and completely fill out the entire scholarship application.
6. High school transcript must be submitted.
7. Copy of parent/guardian’s 2016 Federal Income Tax Return must be submitted with scholarship application.
8. A minimum of three letters of recommendation are encouraged with the scholarship package.
9. Applications must be received (postmarks not accepted) by CVOC no later than Friday, March 31, 2017.

E. & J. Gallo Winery would like to invite qualified students to the Winery on January 30, 2017 to learn more about our High School Scholarship Internship Program (not mandatory to attend). This program is a great opportunity for students in the Central Valley to receive a college scholarship while gaining real work experience within the internship. Over the past 20 years, we’ve had 136 students enter this program and many of them have continued on to successful careers at the Winery and elsewhere. We ask that you advertise this opportunity to students who meet the qualifications listed below so that they can be considered for the program.

 

We are looking for seniors who meet the following qualifications:

 3.2 unweighted cumulative GPA or higher

 1190 SAT (1650 for old SAT) or 25 ACT score or higher

 Official transcript

 Two completed 250 word essays

 Two letters of recommendation (both from an educator or one from an educator and one from an employer)

 Must maintain a 2.8 GPA and full time student status at the college of their choice.

In addition, students have the opportunity to work as a paid intern at Gallo Winery for 40 days each summer before the year in which the student receives their scholarship award. The Summer Internship for 2017 will be from June 12 th – August 4 th . Students who opt into the Winery internship will receive real world projects and training in a department related to their field of study (if applicable). Founded in 2005 by the California Association of Collectors, CACESF is a 501c3 organization that provides scholarships to California high school students who demonstrate an understanding of sound financial and credit management.

 

This year, CACESF is offering a total of six scholarships—three to high school juniors and three to graduating seniors. First place winners will receive $2,500, second place winners will receive $2,000, and third place winners will receive $1,500.
